Elementary Art Camp | FAQs

Who teaches this Elementary Art Camp?

Elementary Art Camp will be taught by me, Anna Wetzel Artz (your child may know me as “Mrs. Artz”). I’m a professional artist and certificated K-12 Visual Arts teacher in Washington state with over fifteen years of combined experience teaching in schools, nonprofits, and school-aged summer programs.

Although having an art teacher in elementary school is fantastic, I know that most kids would still like more than the 35 minutes of art instruction they receive each week. It’s been a dream of mine to offer art enrichment opportunities where students can be immersed in different types of media for longer stretches of time, allowing their creativity to blossom further.

High school volunteers may be present for parts of the camp, especially to assist with the K-2 morning sessions. Volunteers will always be supervised by Mrs. Artz.

What kinds of activities will my child do at this camp?

Students will work on visual art techniques, do hands-on art activities, and create several finished works of art! Projects may include acrylic and watercolor painting, drawing, printmaking, collage, 3-D paper construction, air-dry clay sculpture, and more.
